Prague to Berlin

After another hearty breakfast, we hiked to the train station to learn that our train to Berlin was running an hour late. When we finally left Prague, we used the 5-hour ride to sort through our pictures. We actually remembered what most of them were after some discussion. The ride from Prague to Berlin took us through some very pretty countryside, with the odd castle thrown in here and there.

We arrived in Berlin just in time to ride the rush-hour trains to our hostel. It was a little cramped, but okay. After checking in, we walked around for about three hours. We're staying slightly over one kilometer almost due south of Checkpoint Charlie, and we walked up to the Brandenburg Gate, then circled around through what used to be East Berlin and back home. We stopped along the way for some authentic German pizza.

We have another elevator with character. Tonight, we got on board on the 6th floor and pressed lobby. We stopped on 5 to add a lad going to 3. The elevator stopped at 3, jumped up and down for a bit, never opened the doors, took us to the basement, stopped for a few seconds there but still didn't open the doors, then took us back to 3. It's always an adventure.
