We decided to explore to the north today, so we walked up to Regent's Park, home of the London Zoo. We didn't go to the zoo, but wandered the gardens and climbed up to the viewpoint at Primrose Hill for a nice panoramic view of the city. (We did see some warthogs off the side of the walkway where the park and zoo join.)

We circled around by the British Museum, but didn't stay very long. Although they have an amazing collection of artifacts, we realized that a Greek vase in London pretty much looks like a Greek vase in the U.S.

After locating the Rosetta Stone, we headed back out to the streets to continue our semi-random wandering. As we held a course that took us in the general direction of our apartment, we stumbled across Soho, Carnaby Street, and Savile Row, all places we'd heard of. We discovered one street that was entirely composed of music shops. An art gallery we stopped at had a lot of pieces that we actually liked, but when we saw the prices, we tiptoed out, fearful that we might accidentally knock something over and have to mortgage the farm! We also searched several local "op shops" looking for old books and finally found a few to keep us entertained on the flight home. It was fun just strolling along and watching the hustle-bustle around us, but we're looking forward to being back home where we can walk without having to take big steps and little uns.
