RICHIE - She told me she crashed her car.

RICHIE - Big sucker. But thin. Scar down one side of his face.

MacLEOD - A cut?

RICHIE - No. Like a burn. From his eye down past his mouth. Made him look scary as hell.

SCENE FOUR

 
MacLEOD - Just a late night walk. It's good for the constitution.

MAKO - That so? Usually our kind don't worry much about our constitutions, do we, MacLeod?

MacLEOD - What do you want?

MAKO - I been asking around about you. They say you're a man who respects the law.

RICHIE - She said she wouldn't go to a hospital. She was too scared, said she needed me to hide her out.

RICHIE - My gut tells me she's not lying.

SCENE EIGHT

 
LAURA - But it's the middle of the night, I thought it would be okay . . .

MacLEOD - Not with Mako after you. He doesn't rest like other people.

SCENE NINE

 
LAURA - I never saw the ocean before . . .

MacLEOD - I know what you mean. It makes you feel safe, like you've come home.

[Laura nods & they share a brief smile.]

LAURA - I guess that's it.

MacLEOD - Don't let it fool you.

SCENE TEN

 
MacLEOD - Whatever he decides, he'll decide for himself. [beat] I just want to be sure he knows the score when he does.

SCENE ELEVEN

 
MAKO - Morning.

RICHIE - [stark naked and incredibly vulnerable, reaches for a towel] Get the hell out of my house.

[Mako hits Richie full in the face with the flat of his palm. Richie falls back against the wall. Mako stares at him intensely.]

MAKO - Let's try that again. A little friendlier this time. [Richie throws a punch & Mako blocks it & knocks Richie up against the wall again.] Don't do that again.

RICHIE - How'd you find me?

MAKO - Your license plate. It wasn't hard.

SCENE TWELVE

In the shooting script, the scenes between Joe and DM are set in a park, so I don't know whose house this is. It can't be Joe's because DM doesn't know Joe's address in 'Unholy Alliance'. The outdoor location looks like the view seen out the window of the indoor scene between them. I'm guessing the scenes were filmed at the same place.

SCENE THIRTEEN

 
MacLEOD - At least you're still alive.

SCENE FOURTEEN

 
RICHIE - Look, I grew up with girls just like her. I know what her life was like.

SCENE FIFTEEN

In the original script, instead of a quick-draw stand off, Mako and DM both draw their swords and briefly fight. DM disarms Mako and raises his sword for the final blow.

SCENE SIXTEEN

 
LAURA - My father-in-law came to see me in the county jail. Told me that I wouldn't live long enough to stand trial. [beat] My mom put up the house to make bail and I ran . . .

SCENE SEVENTEEN

 
MAKO - [draws his sword, ready to press the issue] Made some bad choices, son, but this is the worst.

SCENE EIGHTEEN

 
MacLEOD - Richie, back off. You don't want to do this.

[Richie's shaking with anger.]

MAKO - Listen to him, boy. I didn't mean to kill the girl. It was an accident.

RICHIE - Like hell it was!

MacLEOD - Richie, once this starts, I can't interfere.

RICHIE - It's already started, Mac. It's gone way too far.

SCENE NINETEEN

 
MacLEOD - Grow old.

RICHIE - Something like that. [shakes his head with a touch of bitterness]

MacLEOD - You'll still love . . . You'll still hate . . .
